Graduate Study in Computational Biophysics and Nanotechnology
Applications are invited for graduate student positions, starting date
as early as January 2022 in the Department of Physics, Clarkson University. We are currently
looking for candidates to perform research in the areas of computational
biophysics and nanotechnology. Initial applointment is into MS program, followed by PhD program addition based on
performance.
Advanced computational skills are required (Fortran or C++ programming
languages), knowledge of Brownian Dynamics/Molecular Dynamics is preferable.
Rudimentary knowledge of solid-state or semiconductor physics is desirable.
Background in biology is not required, but some interest in this area is
essential.
Our group develops coarse-grained models of biological molecules (DNA and polymers) and various proteins, as well as
multi-scale models of solid-state nanoporous membranes for use as biomolecular and
