Friday December 14 The final project of the course is a telemarketing model that includes all the features described in Sections 13.1 - 13.3 and 13.5 (ignore Section 13.4). Before attempting to implement the features in Section 13.5, make sure you have a model that implements everything in 13.1 - 13.3, paying particular attention to the ODD description in 13.3.1. Use NetLogo links, as described on p. 177 (last paragraph) and p. 178 to implement telemarketer mergers. Don't use the approach described in the top part of p. 177. Although we haven't worked with links yet, the examples on p. 177 and 178 are helpful. There are also some good examples in the NetLogo Models Library, in the Networks section: Diffusion on a Directed Network, Preferential Attachment, and Virus on a Network. There are other examples too, but they are somewhat longer. And in the Code Examples section of the Models Library, there is a nice short example: Network Example. You should also read over the section on Links in the NetLogo User Manual Programming Guide (not the Link Shapes section). To submit your project, you will need to demonstrate it to me sometime before 5PM on Friday December 14. It shouldn't take long. Just email me so that we can set up a time for your demo. I'll be around most of next week, but it's better not to wait until the last minute to set up a time. Also, and this is important, if you are having difficulties that you can't solve, I'd be glad to help. You can send me an email describing your problem, with your NetLogo file attached, or email me so we can meet in the science center (bring your NetLogo file on your PC or a memory stick).
