Fortification Walls at Mycenae

Fortification walls at Mycenae. Later Greeks, impressed by the size of the blocks, thought the walls had been built by superhumans. The style is referred to as Cyclopean; that is, massive, usually unworked blocks joined without mortar. You will find further examples of this architectural style in the Perseus Art and Archeology search section.
