Created the new login theme for the lab build. The new theme is slicker, and contains a friendly message to ask us for any help.

Joined the CC list of a few bugs in Gentoo and Ubuntu bugzillas. Provided (hopefully) useful feedback to users and developers in forums and IRC.

Fixed the faulty behavior of openoffice-ximian-bin. It used to fail to start silently if a user had ~/.xversionrc but not ~/.xopenoffice/. The fix was done through /usr/bin/xoffice, which is a bash wrapper script.

Fixed the issue with emacs. It failed to start in graphical mode. The error message was "Unknown color: black." The cause was Gentoo's changing default prefix for X.org, and us having old RGB path in XF86Configs.

Installed evince, a lightweight yet powerful PDF/Postscript viewer.

Edited GNOME menu for usability. The new standard for entries is

Name=Generic Application Functionality
Comment=Actual Name of the Application - detailed description of the
program's functions and properties.
Moved AbiWord and Gnumeric into 'Others' sub-menu to avoid confusion with openoffice-ximian-bin components.

The OSDL project has been scrapped because of the lack of time.

The lab update scripts have been modified to reboot and try again in case of failure to sync or stop AFS.

Started utilizing Gentoo's useful GLSA toolkit for security update management.

Fixed the openoffice-ximian-bin spell-check issue.

Customized openoffice-ximian-bin to save in MS-compatible document formats.

Fixed up broken and non-intuitive file associations using defaults.list.
