AIAA mtg minutes 2/1/15 = Shirts = * Seniors Class shirts ordered following Senior Trivia Night have arrived ** New document in AIAA E-board dropbox detailing who has received their shirts * Josh is going to distribute shirts to Senior Design Classes = Bylaws = * Officers have drafted a set of bylaws and a constitution for CU AIAA to update the national organization with * Quibbles, discussion: ** Freshmen are eligible to run for officership following one semester of active membership; "latter 75% of semester" at least ** Faculty advisors must be full-time actual faculty: lecturers and assistant, associate, or full professors employed full-time by Clarkson. Clause exists to keep grad students, postdocs, etc. from being advisors ** Semesterly activity reports will be sent out to MAE student body as well as faculty ** Larger AIAA student chapters are focused more on lectures, workshops, info sessions *** As chapter grows, meetings can develop into this once a semester and then more often ** Counterproposals for freshman dinner/BBQ: *** Event at the start of the Fall semester -- few weeks off from start of semester (weekend after fall break) **** Will be discussed further *** Replace first meeting with a mixer, non-productive networking period between new members and officers, et al. *** All aeros party at the end of the Spring semester * Ratified by general body! Onwards to business: = Display Case = * Calls to be made in the following week to contractors for building requirements = RC/UAV Forum = * Looking into forum locations = Website = * Next Webmaster search will enter AE classes to discuss AIAA events, needs for a webmaster over the semester = Professional Development Workshops = * Helpful, if underattended * Next currently-planned part is on Wednesday of Career Fair, attended by employer panels, will have food = Trip = * Interest in a trip akin to last year's Flying Club/AIAA trip to Canada = 2016 AIAA Student Conference = * Hampton Inn, CAMP lecture Wing could support a conference * Shuttle, parking spaces, coule be allotted for attendees * AIAA provides $3500 for conference; $50 per attendee * Could look into corporate sponsors = Syracuse Flight Simulator = * Head of AeroE Engineering Dept. at Syracuse University willing to work with us to set up the use of it later in the semester * Headcount, dates to be worked out as the semester proceeds = Misc. = * Next meeting next Sunday, Feb. 8th 7PM * E-board to discuss AIAA speakers and send out emails
