Shyam received his Bachelors in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering from CECRI, India in 2004 and Masters in Analytical Chemistry from University of North Texas in 2007. He joined LASP in Fall 2007 and currently he is involved in ECMP of NiP hard disk and construction of Pourbaix diagrams. He also teaches Advanced Chemistry lab in the Chemistry Department.

Joshna received Bachelors in Chemistry in 2002 and Masters in Organic Chemistry in 2004 from Osmania University, India. She joined LASP in Fall 2006. She synthesize and characterize novel organic particles for metal CMP applications.

Yongqing received his Bachelors in Chemistry from Central University of Nationalities, China in 2003. Then, he graduated with Masters in Environmental Chemistry at Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in 2006. With his aim of pursuing career towards industry research, he joined LASP in Fall 2006. He is investigating CMP of hard disk substrates like NiP, glass in Al and in combination with slurry metrology after pumping during CMP.

Abhinav received his Bachelors (2003) and Masters (2006) in Chemical Engineering from VTU (Bangalore, India) and Clarkson University respectively. He is being guided by two professors, Dr. Suni and Dr. Li. As a first person to be involved in ECMP project at LASP, Abhinav have successfully designed the ECMP tool. Currently he is working in the formulation and optimization of electrolytes for ECMP of Cu interconnects.

Yang received his Bachelors of Chemistry in 2002 from Zhong Shan University, China. He did his internship in EMS department at Ferro Corporation, Cleveland. At present, he synthesize Ni, Cu and Ag nanoparticles for surface modification applications. He is also working in the formulation of Ag ink for inkjet printing.

Jesse received his Bachelors of Science in 1993 from Augusta State University, in Augusta, Georgia.  He then joined Merck & Co., Inc. as an Analytical Research Chemist for two years.  After serving the next 6 years as Quality Operations Supervisor with Merck, he joined Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in 2002 as a Lead Investigator.  Jesse is currently a Research Scientist in the Chemical Development Plant for Wyeth Research.  He is currently pursuing his PhD at LASP as an off-campus student since the Spring of 2005. His research is towards understanding the surface chemistry of CMP processes. Apart from his busy schedule, he tries to spend time with his 2 daughters, Lindsey and Jesse Lane, and he is great hunter.

Jianfeng received Bachelors and Masters in Chemistry from Guangzhou University and Jinan University, China. Jianfeng is a visiting student from China from Fall 2007. As a polymer chemist, at LASP, he is working in the development of conductive pads for ECMP and reactive pads for CMP applications.

Ken received his Bachelors in Chemistry from Clarkson University in 2003. He started working in LASP during his undergraduate career and currently pursuing his PhD in Chemistry. He is currently investigating the effect of different oxidizers for metal CMP process. He also teaches organic chemistry lab (CM 244). Besides teaching and research, he also serves as an Assistant Coach for CU Football team.

Dr. Yuan received her Bachelors in Chemistry in 2001 from Yantai University, China and PhD in Physical Chemistry from Chinese Academy of Science in 2006. Currently she is working in post-CMP of hard disk substrates (NiP/Al) and CMP of Cu.

Dr. Changxue Wang

Dr. Wang received his Masters in Engineering Mechanics from Huazhong Univ. of Sci. & Tech in 1991. After teaching for 6 years, he pursued his graduate study at Iowa State University and received his PhD in Engineering Mechanics in 2004. He joined LASP in 2006. He manages the full fledged CMP facility and pursues active research in the development of new slurries for Cu, W, STI, barrier metals.

Dr. Nicole received her Associate Degree in Math Science from Jefferson Community College and Bachelors in Biology (Minor - Chemistry) from SUNY, Oswego. She received her PhD in Chemistry from Clarkson University in 2007. At LASP, she guides undergraduate students for their active research. She also teaches general and forensic chemistry at SUNY, Canton.
