Bronze Age Greece: The world of Homer's Odyssey

Homer's Iliad and Odyssey were written down sometime during the 8th century BC but they deal with events that took place at the end of the Bronze Age, around 1275-1250 BC (please note that I am simplifying the problem here: we are not in fact certain that the same person wrote both works and of course the historicity of the Trojan War has concerned generations of scholars). In order to get an idea of what Bronze Age Greece was like I have compiled a list of websites for you to visit: some deal with archaeological sites and others with material finds. Please use all of the links below -- some are only pictures and some include text. Study all of them. You may also want to look at our Web Resources.
