of several one term on- or off-campus project programs.
We will explain how we do this, the types of projects and
programs involved, faculty involvement and loading.  We
will also briefly describe WPI's unique third year off-campus
projects program that forces students to confront the
interface between engineering & science and society in
a projects based format. Student representatives will be
present.

experience for undergraduates, collaborative efforts

Guests Introduction

ECE Departments struggle with the fast pace at which
the computer engineering field changes, and how to keep
our courses and laboratories current in the CE and digital
design areas. The goal is to share ideas, needs and trends
among ourselves and with several industry experts who
will joint us to talk about;

  • state of the art of the practice of IC design
  • FPGAs Vs ASIC implementation
  • what every ECE major should know about
    computer and digital design
  • what ever CE major should know
  • trends in the CE industry and in digital design
  • mixed signal design, the digital-analog interface
  • important related skills
  • desirable and expected laboratory experiences
  • DH's sharing of current CE and digital design
    education practices
  • other topics related to digital design and CE
    as they arise
