Peter Skudarnov with the centrifuge used in his doctoral studies on convection in the gradient freeze configuration of crystal growth.  The apparatus is attached to one end of the red I-beam, on top of which projects the slip rings for electric power, thermocouple signals, and video output.  See also  another view of the centrifuge .  Return to research.
