Biography

Laura Ettinger is Professor of History at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. Originally from Baltimore, she received her A.B. from Vassar College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in American History from the University of Rochester. Dr. Ettinger is an oral historian who sees her mission as amplifying people's stories and using history to make a difference. Her scholarship focuses on women, gender, and the engineering, scientific, and medical professions in the United States. She shares her research in varied media outlets to reach a wide audience. Dr. Ettinger is a passionate teacher who enjoys helping students to see things in new ways.
