Research
In 2014 I co-hosted the
Mathematics Conference and
Competition of Northern New York
with Drs. Guangming Yao and Joel Foisy.
Since 2006 I have been a co-director of
IMPETUS for
Career Success funded by NYSED STEP
Listen to me talk about our Roller Coaster Design Competition in this video! and about our Roller Coaster Math-Physics Camp in this video! and listen to my colleagues talk about our annual Pi Day Celebration in this video!

In 2013 I co-wrote the competition question for the SIAM Moody's Mega Math Challenge, so roughly 5000 students across the United States tackled how to design a recycling program to help reduce the amount of plastic going into landfills. See all about it here!
Here is the closest I will likely come to holding a huge check (with the winners of the competition and co-author Dr. Karen Bliss)

I am a local coordinator of our middle school MATHCOUNTS
program
**********************************************
I am grateful to the American Institute of Mathematics for
funding our Workshop on
Derivative-Free
Hybrid Optimization Methods for Solving Simulation-based Problems in Hydrology
**********************************************
I coach teams for the
COMAP
International Mathematical Contest in Modeling.
In 2009 we had THREE Meritorious Winning Teams and an
OUTSTANDING Team with the MAA Award!
Congratulations to our students!
We are currently training our teams for next year’s competition.

Listen to me talk about how much I love math in this Podcast featured in Wild About Math!
I am equally as excited about cooking and more recently decorating cookies--read about my friend tutoring me in cookie-art in this NPR article!

I am an affiliate of the
Institute for a Sustainable Environment
In summer of 2004 I visited
for four weeks thanks to a grant from the
Association for Women in
Mathematics
