The Slippage of Signification
Financial consulting firm AXA
sues Google over the fact that
a search on AXA results in a page that includes Google Adwords that point to AXA's competitors (among others).
The suit, in French court, will likely depend on the outcome of a pending appeal of a ruling last year in which a French travel agent protested a similar situation with Google, and was awarded nearly $90k.
(
Jacques Derrida apologies for the behaviour of his homeland but regrets to note that the slippage of signification cuts many ways.)
