Zed TV: Open Source Television

I'm watching a mini-documentary on a man in Yellowknife (Canada) licking a metal flagpole (he wasn't triple-dog-dared; but he was rescued by someone pouring warm water over his tongue). The clip is part of Zed TV, a show that bills itself as "Open Source Television." ("Zed" is how the letter Z is pronounced in Canada. I learned this on one of several trips to Canada to play hockey when I was a kid.) People submit brief clips (music videos, movies, skits, etc). Mock-documentaries. Geek music videos. Norwegian Rockabilly. Severed heads disgorging antiqued photographs. Aired on CBC and posted to the website; users vote on them. Hybrid media, participatory. Cool.
