IRL and VR

Virtual interactions have typically been seen as inferior to "real-world" interactions. Halley Suitt asks why mediate relationships are different:
We've known one another online and by phone for nearly two years and only met in person yesterday. Is our relationship real now and was not real when it was virtual, supported by technology?
