Title: PI-Res and Spectrum: A First Order Logic Inference System and Implementation

Abstract: We will present a new first-order logic inference system, PI-Res, which is a
hybrid inference system based on combining the Resolution and Partial Instantiation
inference systems.  We will also discuss our implementation, named Spectrum, and
provide examples which show that PI-Res proofs can sometimes be found faster than
Resolution proofs and Partial Instantiation proofs.
