Course description: Advanced problem solving seminar for students interested in careers as actuaries. Prepares for Exam P of the Society of Actuaries. For information on the topics covered on the exam, see   Exam P information.
Outcomes: At the end of the course the students should be prepared to take and pass Exam P of the Society of Actuaries.
Equipment: Only calculators on the approved list of the Society of Actuaries may be used on Actuarial Exams. The list is included in the Spring 2005 Society of Actuaries Basic Education Catalog. The recommended calculator is the Texas Instruments BA-35.
Grading: Each Friday you will have a 30-minute multiple choice examination with 7 questions. These questions will be similar to those on the Actuarial Exam. Each Friday you will receive 10 problems as homework. This homework will be due the following Friday. Your final grade will be determined by averaging all homework and exam grades.
EXAM P WILL BE HELD ON MAY 16-19, 2006. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE EXAM NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15, 2006.
