By-Laws
Active membership is defined as someone who is properly registered with the club
and has paid in full all necessary dues and fees associated with membership.
Clubs should define general membership in this way in their by-laws.
Note: There must be a minimum number of meetings per semester in order for
the organization to be funded, i.e. once a week or once a month. This can be established
in the by-laws.
By-Laws
All other organizations should have by-laws. These state procedural matters for the
organization and also a codified system of rules. By-laws may be added, written,
or changed by the organization without needing approval of the CUSA Senate. This may
be done by the procedures outlined in the club's constitution. Changing the by-laws
is a responsibility of the club and is up to the discretion of the club. Here are some
guidelines in writing by-laws.
- Membership requirements (dues, attendance, etc.)
- Provisions for amending the by-laws
- Any Special by-laws pertinent to the given organization
