Director

Chen Liu

Dr. Liu currently is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York.

He received his B. E. in Electronics and Information Engineering in 2000 from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC),  M. S. in Electrical Engineering in 2002 from University of California, Riverside (UCR), and Ph. D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2008 from University of California, Irvine (UCI), respectively. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Liu was an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University (FIU).
 
Dr. Liu's research interests include: multi-/many-core architecture, multi-threading architecture, the interaction between system software and microarchitecture, power-aware computing, hardware acceleration techniques, and virtual machine management.

Dr. Liu is a member of IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, ACM, ACM SIGARCH, ACM SIGMICRO, and ASEE.

Graduate Students

Gildo Torres

Gildo is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clarkson University. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in July 2006, from the Polytechnic University of Havana, Cuba. He received his M.S. degree in Computer Engineering in May 2012, from Florida International University. He is interested in many-core architecture and virtual machine management.

Xueyan Li

Xueyan Li is a master student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Clarkson University. She received her B.E. degree in Computer Science in July 2013, from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. She is interested in multi-core architecture, control systems, and microprocessor architecture.

Laura Pritchard

Laura is a Master’s student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clarkson University. She is also an MBA student in the School of Business at Clarkson  University. She received her B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in May 2010, from Lafayette College. She is interested in the interaction between software and microarchitecture, multi-core architecture, and hardware acceleration.

Undergraduate Students

Ben Petroski

Ben is an undergraduate student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clarkson University and expects to receive his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2014. He has worked at Raytheon Missile Systems, the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, and Nvidia in the past. He is interested in microprocessors, multi-core architectures, FPGA, and GPGPU.

Guthrie Cordone

Guthrie is an undergraduate student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Clarkson University and expects to receive his B.S degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2015. He plans to attend graduate school in 2016.  He is interested in control systems, FPGAs, and microprocessor architecture.

Charlie McGuffey

Charlie is an undergraduate student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science departments at Clarkson University. He expects to receive his B.S. degree with Honors in Computer Engineering and Computer Science in May 2015. He has past experience doing research with Professor Chris Lynch and working for GE. Charlie is interested in microprocessors, multi-core computing, and combining hardware and software for parallel programming.
