Medicinal Chemistry group was
established in 2008 to advance the development of health oriented research
at Clarkson University. The current focus of our research is the
design of new chemotherapy agents and development of methods for targeted
delivery of drugs. We chemically modify existing biologically
active compounds to create drug analogues or prodrugs with
improved bioavailability.
The techniques that we employ include: * synthetic organic chemistry * self assembly through complementary metal complexes * molecular modeling of antibiotic-ribosome interactions |
