What is ROTC?
Curriculum
Freshman and Sophomores enroll in the Basic Course which meets one to two hours per week. Classroom topics cover life skills such as time management and fitness, and basic military topics such as military traditions, squad tactics, and basic leadership. The lab held on Thursdays involves skills training on things like snowshoeing, land navigation, rifle marksmanship, first aid and rappelling.
Juniors and Seniors enroll in the Advanced Course. These students study subjects including advanced leadership and management, small unit tactics, and military ethics. Under the supervision of the cadre they plan and execute the training in the battalion, and prepare for Summer Camp, and subsequently the start of their officer career.
