The Green to Gold program seeks talented and experienced enlisted Soldiers to leave the Army (except for the Active Duty Option soldiers who remain on Active Duty), attend college, earn a college degree, and become Officers. Quality enlisted Soldiers with Officer potential, who have served at least two years on Active Duty, are allowed to voluntarily request discharge to enroll in Army ROTC.

2 Year Active Duty Option

There is also a highly competitive 2-Year Active Duty Option (non-scholarship). ADO Soldiers remain on Active Duty while obtaining their degree. They participate in Army ROTC as a cadet in their current pay grade. Upon completing the program, you can earn a bachelor's degree and a commission as a Second Lieutenant. Furthermore, 2-, 3-, and 4�year scholarships are available, as well as a 2-year non�scholarship option. If you are enlisted in the U.S. Army, you may be eligible to apply for a 2-, 3-, or 4-year Green-to-Gold scholarship or the 2-year Active Duty Option (non-scholarship).
