Earth Week
Earth Week, the week of April 20th - 24th (and surrounding weekends) are quickly being filled with awesome and intriguing environmental activities within the Potsdam community. Feel free to attend any or all of these events:
- Relay for Life. Friday, April 17th, 8:00 P.M. - 8:00 A.M. Raising money and awareness for cancer research. This year's Relay for Life is also going to make every attempt to lessen its environmental impact, by limiting electricity usage, not selling bottled water, and encouraging recycling. At the Indoor Recreation Center at Clarkson University.
- Focus the Nation. Tuesday, April 21st, 6:30 P.M. A community town hall to discuss green jobs and clean energy in St. Lawrence County. At Potsdam Senior High School auditorium.
- Clarkson Campus Cleanup and Barbecue. Wednesday, April 22nd, time to be announced. Sponsored by ECO and NYWEA. Will feature good, eco-friendly food, live musicians, and lots of fun. At Cheel lawn.
- Pride in Potsdam Cleanup. Saturday, April 25th, 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Come join students and local residents in a community cleanup. Meet at the Rescue Squad Complex where brooms, rakes, and garbage bags will be handed out.
- North Country Sustainable Energy Fair. Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th. Over 60 workshops and 50 exhibitors offer people information and inspiration they need to create more sustainable lives in this time of growing concern for the future of our planet. At SUNY Canton.
